In Glasgow, Halesowen man – Kevin McCauley, out-pointed Scotsman – Craig Windsor over ten rounds to win the vacant British Masters Light-Middleweight Title.
At London’s Wembley Arena, George Groves of Hammersmith forced the second round stoppage of Liverpools – Paul Smith. Groves was defending his British Super-Middleweight and Commonwealth Super-Middleweight Titles. Also, on the Frank Warren promoted Show, Ricky Burns of Coatbridge, Scotland, won the interim WBO Lightweight Title by Unanimous Points Decision over Michael Katsidis of Australia.
Gary Buckland has been forced to pull out of his British Super-Featherweight Title defence against Paul Truscott in Newport, Wales, later this month citing a muscle injury. The Hatton Promotions Show has been postponed for the time being, but Paul Truscott will be on the Oldham Bill (November 12th) against Dezzie Higginson.
And, Audley Harrison has danced his way through to another week on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ (!)
