Adil Anwar of Leeds is the latest Prizefighter Champion after winning three-rounders against Barry Morrison, John Watson and Tyrone Nurse (in the final).
The eight-man ‘Light-Welterweights II’ Tournament at Wolverhamptons’ Civic Hall, proved another great success for Promoters – Matchroom Sport.
The first two bouts of the night showcased local talent:
Ryan Aston (Dudley) v Kieron Gray (Telford)
6 x 3 Middleweight Contest
Aston the ‘Tank’ – scored a first round KO having landed a peach of a body-shot. Gray was unable to recover from the blow and was counted out.
Aston improves to 5 wins (2 by KO) while Gray’s record drops to 5 wins (1 by KO) 4 losses (1 by KO) and 1 draw.
Tommy Ghent (Coseley) v William Warburton (Atherton)
4 x 3 Welterweight Contest
Tommy the ‘Gladiator’ scored a points win over experienced Warburton (40-36).
Ghent’s record now stands at 3 wins (2 by KO) while Warburton drops to 5 wins 25 losses (2 by KO) and 2 draws.
