Welcome to the first edition of “Live Round by Rounds” as we will be providing the action as it happens. Enjoy as we bring you Ricardo “Rocky” Juarez vs. Humberto “La Zorrita” Soto.

Round 1: Juarez and Soto both come out in their orthodox stance. Both weighed in at 126 pounds for the fight. Soto comes out jabbing and showing some head movement. Juarez, using a high guard, is just blocking punches. Soto is shooting a sharp left right hand, followed by a chopping right hand. Juarez still looking to get his offense going. Rocky lands a solid left hook, but Humberto comes back with jabs. Juarez now letting his jab go, and circles to his left. Juarez leads with two left hooks and soto comes back with two hooks to the body. Juarez counters soto’s jab with a over hand right. Soto goes back to jabbing. Soto get some hooks to the body in at the end of the round.

10-9 for Soto, but it was tight round.

Round 2: La Zorrita comes out jabbing as Juarez circles to his left. Both fighters exchange punches. Referee warns both fighters about low blows. Soto backs Juarez up with a sharp jab. Soto lands a three punch combination ending with a left hook. Juarez lands a solid left hook, and right hand. Soto lands a three punch combo, and ends it with an upper cut. The jab is really working for Humberto. Juarez is trying to exchange jabs with Soto. Four punches by soto, but juarez blocks most of the arsenal. Sot lands three shots, ending with an upper cut that stunns Soto.

10-9 Soto…..

Round 3: Soto comes out and continues to work the jab. Juarez looks uncomfortable as he backs off. Soto uses some head movement and shoots two solid jabs. Rocky lands a solid right hand counter, but gets raked to the body. Soto continues to shoot jabs and works the body. He lands a sharp right hand and a hook to the body. Juarez doubles up with left hooks. Juarez lands a solid left hook, but Soto keeps coming. They start to trade jabs again, with soto’s looking a little stronger. Soto lands a three punch combo. Soto lands a solid left hook. Juarez lands a right hand followed by a left hook. Tight round to score.

10-9 Soto

Round 4: Soto back to jabbing as Juarez circles away. Juarez now going left hook crazy trying to change the outcome of the fight. Both fighters trade jabs. Soto going to the body and goes back to the jab. In the trenches, Soto doing great work, going to both the body and head. Juarez lands a right hand inside. Juares with a right hand, left hook combo, but Soto just plots through with no problems. Some great exchanges as soto is comming forward and racking Juarez with hooks to the body and head. Juarez lands a left hook, but Soto answers with a right hand. Juarez lands a punch to the plexes. As the round ends, Soto flurries to the body.

10-10 even

Round 5: Soto comes out jabbing to the body as Juarez circles to his left. Juarez lands a short left to the body. Fighters are exchanging jabs. La Zorrita contineus to jab. Rocky lands a decent left hook, but soto continues to stick a solid jab. Juarez comes back wtth a one-two combo, but Soto comes back with three punches. Fighters trade left hooks, with Soto’s being sharper. Juarez works the body, then jabs to the head. Soto lands a hard left hook to the body. Juarez lands a solid right hand as the round ends.

10-9 Juarez

Round 6: Fighters come out trading jabs. Soto lands two left to the body. Juarez lands two solid hooks to the body, but Soto comes right back with a stright right hand. Soto lands two shots to the body. Soto lands a left to the body and an upper cut to the chin. Rocky lands a right hand to the head, but La Zorrita comes on the attack again. Juarez lands a hard counter right but Soto lands a left to the body. Juarez is cut under the left eye. Soto is on an all out assult as he is letting both of his hands go, and landing some hard shots. The cut is under the eye. A hard right hands lands for Soto, and Juarez lands a great left hook as the round ends. Both fighters are starting to swell around the eyes.

10-9 Soto

Round 7: Soto continues to jab as Rocky trys to lands left hooks. Juarez lands a solid jab, but soto comes buck with a solid jab. Juarez lands a left hook, but soto comes back with a right hand. Soto lands a straight right hand. He pushes Rocky to the ropes, and works him over to the body and head. Soto warned for rabbit punching, and Rocky for retaliating. Both fighters exchange punches on the ropes. Juarez is getting wokred over by “La Zorrita”. He comes back with a solid right hand, followed by a left hook, and a right hand. Juarez hurts Soto badly with a left hook. Soto holds on for his life as the round ends.

10-9 Juarez

Round 8: Both figthers come out exchanging jabs. Juarez lands a solid left hook, but soto comes back with body shots. He lands a hellacious right hand to the ribs. Both figthers clinch. Soto backs up and jabs again. Juarez lands a heavy body shot and comes back with a solid left hook. Soto comes back with a right hand followed by a left hook. Juarez lands two left hooks to the head and body. Soto stems the tide with a solid left hook. La Zorrita jabs and gets some in. Juarez closes with a solid flurry to the head and body. Hard round to score. Both did work.

10-10 even

Round 9: Fans, inbetween the rounds I think Juarez told his trainer he broke his hand, but not verified. Both come out jabbing. Soto tries a upper cut, but misses. Juarez not using his right hand at all. Emmanuel mentions that he may have told a corner man that he hurt a hand. Juearz, working with his left only, lands two hooks. Point deducted from Soto for rabbit punching Juarez. Soto comes out unleashing a lot of combos. The fight is paused because Rocky needs to get his glove retaped. Both fighters come out and exchange left hooks. Juarez is just not using that right hand. Juarez gets a left in, but soto comes back with two body shots. Juarez lands another left hook, but Soto does not seem effected. The rounds ends.

10-8 Juarez

Round 10: Both fighters come out jabbing. Soto lands three hooks to the body. Humberto stocking as Juarez backs up. Another point deducted for rabbit punching from Soto. Juarez is one lucky guy. Juarez comes back with aggression and soto response with his own attack. Soto continues to land combos, but Juarez lands a huge right hand and left to the body. Soto takes it very well, and continues to come forward unleashing hell on Juarez. Juarez lands a left to the top of the head. Juarez gets trapped on the ropes and gets raked by Soto. The round ends.

9-9 even because of the point deduction but Soto won the round

Round 11: Juarez needs something big. Juarez lands a solid hook to the mid-section of Soto. Juarez lands a solid jab, and comes back with a left hook. Juarez lands a solid hook to the head. Soto lands a great left hand, and a straight right. La Zorrita flurries to the body and closes with hooks to the head. Juarez lands a solid right hand. Juarez lands a solid left hook to the head. He also lands a left to the body that hurts soto. Juarez comming on the attack and shooting nothing but left hooks. He closes with a solid left.

10-9 Juarez

Round 12: They touch gloves and go to work. Juarez comes out on the attack and lands a big left hook to the head. Soto is jabbing and circling away. Juarez lands a long left hook, but Soto comes back on the attack. Juarez land an over hand right, but does not have any effect. Soto lands a big half hook to the chin. Juarez counters with a solid left, but Soto keeps coming. Soto comes on the attack, and both stand near the ropes and exchange. Juarez lands two shots, but soto comes back with two right hands. The fighters exchange furiously as the round ends. Great solid fight.

10-9 Soto……. The official scores coming right up.

The official scores are 114-113, 114-112, and 114-113 for the winner by unanimous decision, Humberto “La Zorrita” Soto.
