Round 2:Vargas comes out looking a little more energetic. Castillejo shooting wide hooks, but is not engaging. Vargas, again, is very patient. Vargas lands two punches to the body. Castillejo being very inaffective. Castillejo lands a solid right hand, followed by a left hook. Vargas comes in behind a jab, but Javier starts to land some combos. Castillejo lands a solid left hook. Vargas lands a good over hand right. Vargas showing some improved defense as he dodges and slips some punches. Still, Javier was more offensive.

Round 3: Both fighters circling each other. Javier continues to be more aggressive. Vargas lands a body shot that knocks Castillejo off balance. Vargas lands another left to the body, but Javier lands a solid right hand to the head. Vargas continues to circle and jabs. He lands a good right hand to the body, but Javier lands a solid right of his own Two body shots land for Vargas. Vargas now landing the jab. Jaiver lands a quick right hand to the body. Round 4: Vargas looks energized. Both exchange body blows. Javier takes another hard right hand and has Javier reeling on his heels. Vargas land another hard one-two combo. Castillejo looks confused. Vargas popping Castillejo with jabs. Javier comes back with a body shot to stem the tide. Vargas lands a three punch combo, but Javier comes back with a flurry of his own. He lands a solid jab to the face, and a right to the body. Vargas lands some hard jabs. Javier now coming forward. Vargas stands his ground, and catches Castillejo with a hard right hand.

Round 5: Vargas come out and lands some solid jabs. He lands a hard hook to the body. Castillejo comes back with two jabs and a right hand. Fernando lands a shotgun type jab. Javier is more aggressive and shooting his own jab. Javier looks more alert and is working his jab now. Vargas lands two shots to the body. A solid right hand by Vargas lands, but Javier takes it well. Javier lands two shots to the body, but backs away. Castillejo shooting his jab and follows it by a right hand. Vargas lands another hard right cross to the head. Castillejo lands a three punch combo in response. Vargas lands a good left hook as the rounds ends.

Round 6: Vargas jabs to the body and head. He comes over the top with a quick right hand. Javier is now circling away and gets caught with a right hand. Vargas slips to the canvas. He gets up and lands another solid right hand. Javier lands a solid right of his own. Vargas is on the ropes, and Castillejo lands three punches. Fernando cirlces out of the ropes and jabs. Castillejo lands a quick right. Javier lands a left to the body and upper to the chin. Vargas lands a hard right to the body. Castillejo lands three punches. The both exchange, with Vargas landing two shots as the round ends.

Round 7: Vargas comes out circling. Castillejo lands two punches to the body. Vargas popping the jab to Castillejo’s face. Vargas lands three shots to the body. Javier being much more aggressive and lands some good body shots. Javier lands a quick upper cut. Vargas lands a solid one-two combo. Castillejo lands a four punch flurry. Jaiver landing some good combinations. Vargas goes to the body to stem the tide. Javier is being very aggressive. Vargas landing some solid combinations as the round ends. Both fighters flurry at the end of the round.

Round 8: Vargas comes with a left hook, but Javier blocks it with his gloves. Vargas moving to the sides shots a solid one-two combo, and follows it with a solid left hook to the body. Javier continues to come forward and shot his own jab. Vargas is bouncing round and popping jabs. Javier lands a left to the body and then to the head. Javier continues his aggression. Vargas lands two solid hooks to the body. He clubs Javier with a right. Javier lands two upper cuts, followed by a right hand. Vargas rallies and lands some great shots in the final twelve seconds of the round.

Vargas lands a solid one-two combo. Vargas continues to circle as Javier follows him around. Javier bulls inside and lands some body shots. Vargas, who is now bleeding from the mouth, lands a great right hand to the body. Javier lands a good hook to the body. Fernando lands a jab and circles away. He lands some solid jabs to the body. Vargas pops Javier with a jab.
