Jordan Clayton Makes His Professional Debut

Jordan ClaytonFormer four times Midlands Area and two times Northern Area Amateur Champion – Jordan Clayton of Birmingham is ready to turn pro at the young age of 19.

Based out of the Butchers Shop Gym at Chelmsley Wood – Clayton makes his professional debut on July 6th at Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

Clayton began boxing when he was just eleven years old but ‘fell out of love’ with the sport and in 2011 took some time out when his son was born. Last year, the young boxer walked back in to the Butchers Shop Gym weighing over 16 stone!

“I love to eat and without the training and focus of boxing – I just ballooned in size,” said Clayton.

Now weighing a trimmer 12st 3lb – he is raring to get into the ring on July 6th.

“I have a fantastic team around me in the gym underneath Robbins Family Butchers in Chelmsley Wood. I’ve lost a lot of weight but I’m stronger, fitter and sharper than ever and can’t wait to make my debut,” he said.

Jordan Clayton had no hesitation in signing with top Midlands Promoter – (Paul)PJ Rowson, saying “He puts on exciting shows and has looked after my gym-mates and some of the country’s top prospects – so I am excited to be working with him.
I am mainly an aggressive come-forward fighter, but I can box a bit too and have a few new tricks up my sleeve!
Training has gone well and I’ve had some top sparring sessions for a while now and will be looking to make an impression on fight-night”.

Jordan Clayton debuts on the ‘Time to Prospect’ Fight-night at Wolverhampton Civic, on Saturday 6th July. Promoted by PJ Rowson (First Team Promotions) – the show headlines Ryan ‘Tank’ Aston v Yuri Pompilio in a 10-round Middleweight Contest. For tickets, call 07964984445
