This Thursday night at the Martin’s Valley Mansion in the Cockeysville, Maryland, Tori Nelson will be making the first defense of the her WIBA Welterweight title when she defends against Kali Reis in a bout schedule for eight rounds.
The fight card can be seen live all over the world on PandafeedTV at 8pm EST with the broadcast beginning at 7:50 pm.
Nelson, who is undefeated with a record of 7-0-3, knows that she has a tough task ahead of her and expects a great fight from Reis (5-1-1, 2 KO’s).
“I think it’s going to be a good fight”, said Nelson. “Kali has a nice straight right hand and she likes to stay in the middle of the ring.”
Nelson knows that this is a good opportunity to make a name for herself in front of a worldwide audience.
“I am excited. Ever since i began fighting i think about fighting title fights. Thursday will give me a chance to showcase my skills. I am hopeful that on Thursday i will become a four-time world champion.”
Nelson is a former WBC and WIBA Middleweight champion and she won the WIBA Welterweight title with a ten round unanimous decision over Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes on September 13.
Reis, of Providence, Rhode Island, who has a record 5-1-1 with 2 knockouts, knows that this a great opportunity to become a world champion.
“I am ready for this fight and I have been training hard,”said Reis, “I know what is necessary to win this fight. Tori is really tough. She comes forward and is determined. She throws a lot of punches.
“I am honored to be fighting for the world title. I am coming off a year layoff and its great to be fighting for this championship. I am happy to represent Native American people and i fight for all nations.”
In the six round co-feature, undefeated Heavyweight, Jarrell Miller (5-0-1, 5 KO’s) of Brooklyn, NY takes on Willie Chishom (7-18, 4 KO’s). Gerome Quigley (1-0, 1 KO) of Montgomery Village, MD battles Damien Butler (0-3) of Glenarden, MD in a four round Welterweight bout.
Jeremy Trussell (4-0, 3 KO’s) of Baltimore, MD will take on an opponent to be named in a four round Jr. Middleweight bout. Alexandru Marin (1-0, 1 KO) of Silver Spring, MD will take on an opponent to be named in a four round Featherweight bout.
Rolando Chinea (4-0, 2 KO’s) of Lancaster, PA will fight Benjamin Olinga (1-3) of Washington, DC in a four round Jr. Welterweight bout.
