Last night, WBA Fighter of the Decade and longtime WBA Featherweight champion Chris “The Dragon” John and IBO Lightweight “Indonesian Thunder” Daud Cino Yordan met with Indonesian vice president Boediono and a select few select Indonesian dignitaries as they shared dinner together at the Indonesian Consulate in Perth, Western Australia.
They talked about various subjects, of which John would say, “It was a big honor to meet Mr. Vice President, he is very good man and he represents my people well”.
Yordan greatly enjoyed the occasion, saying “Mr Boediono [Vice President] said he will be watching December 6 in Indonesia with the rest of the country and he said for me and Chris to make the country proud”.
Currently both John (48-0-3, 22 knockouts), and Yordan (31-3, 23 knockouts) are training at Harry’s Gym in Balcatta, Australia.
John, who was awarded the WBA “Fighter of the Decade”, will be looking to extend his reign as champion having been WBA Featherweight champion for over ten years when he meets tough South African Simpiwe Vetyeka (25-2, 15 KOs) on December 6. If successful he would match Eusebio Pedroza’s division record of nineteen defences.
For his part Yordan who won the IBO lightweight title over the summer will meet another South African Sipho Taliwe (21-3, 14 KOs) as the Co-Main Event.
The event will be broadcast live in Indonesia on RCTI beginning at 9:00pm, Jakarta time.
