The World Boxing Association congratulates the former world champions Félix “Tito” Trinidad, Oscar de la Hoya and Joe Calzaghe for their induction in the Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota.
2014 class will be inducted next June, together with promoter Barry Hearn, referee Richard Steale, journalist Graham Houston, and photographer Neil Leifer, who will also be there for the induction weekend from June 5 to 8.

World Boxing Association featherweight super champion, Indonesian Chris John is ready in Perth, Australia to step on the scale for the oficial weigh-in prior his next title defense on December 6 against Simpiwe Vetyeka.
The Indonesian champion has a record of 48-0-3, 22 KO, and his opponent has 25-2, 15 KO.
John won the featherweight interim belt in 2003, and the following year he captured the absolute title that he defended on 10 occasions before being named super champion in 2009. Since then he has made other six successful defenses.
The officials for the fight are Gustavo Padilla as referee, while the score cards will be in charge of Gloria Martínez, Takeo Harada and Pinit Prayadsab.
Colombian referee Uriel Aguilera, member of the International Officials Committee of the World Boxing Association, will participate in the film of the life of Roberto Duran, Hands of Stone being filmed in Panama.
Aguilera will play de part of Ernesto Magaña, Mexican referee who participated in Duran’s fight the American Davey Moore that took place at the Madison Square Garden, New York on June 16, 1983. Duran won by TKO 8.
Aguilera has been member of the WBA Officials’ committee for more than 20 years, and has participated in 87 title bouts, 62 as judge and 25 as referee.
The Venezuelan Edgar Ramirez plays the role of Duran, in the film “Hands of stone”. The singer Usher, Robert de Niro, and Rubén Blades, among other great figures wills also taking part in it. The film is expected to be in theaters next year.
