WBA Update: Kaovichit, Cermeno, Escandon, Kono, Miyasaki

The super flyweight elimination bout between Denkaosen Kaovichit and Kohei Kono will take place March 26, 2014.
Both parties reached an agreement and signed the contracts for the vacant title of the 115 pounds and the fight is scheduled to be staged in Tokyo.

The Committee of Championships of the World Boxing Association ordered negotiations for the rematch bout between the super bantamweight interim champion Nehomar Cermeno and Oscar Escandon.

The first fight between Cermeno and Escandon for the interim title was staged in Panama, on 10 August, 2013.

According to the rules, the mandatory rematch fight should take place in a period of 120 days and that is the reason why the WBA ordered the negotiations to commence.

The fight contracts should be signed by January 15 2014.

The minimumweight champion of the World Boxing Association, Japan’s Ryo Miyasaki, announced his decision to vacate the title and move up a division.

Miyazaki formalized his resignation last week, when he informed the directors of the WBA Championships Committee.
He also requested to be rated in the light fly division in the next ranking cycle.
