After a decade devoted to professional boxing, one of the first WBA Female champions, Myriam Lamare, announced her decision step down from the ring and hang up the gloves after 22 victories and 4 defeats.
Lamare made her professional debut in 2003, and after seven fights she had the opportunity to contend for the WBA 140 lb vacant title against Eliza Olson, whom she defeated by unanimous decision in ten rounds.
She made five successful title defenses before losing with Anne Sophie Mathis by TKO 7, on December 2, 2012.
Later in 2009, she won the WBF title, defeating Ann Saccurato by unanimous decision; later in 2011 she won the IBF title.
Her most recent fight was against the WBA champion Cecilia Brahekus, whom defeated Lamare by unanimous decision on February 1, 2014, and after that fight she announce her retirement.
We wish Lamare all the best in this stage in her live. We are very proud of her victories and wish her happy retirement.
