‘Ruthless’ Ryan Doyle of Gorton won the vacant International Masters Featherweight Title last night by outpointing South-African born Michael Ramabeletsa (95-94).
A thrilling contest saw Ramabeletsa deducted a point in round seven for holding and Doyle with a cut to the right eye which was closely monitored by Referee John Latham and the ringside Doctors. Both men gave it their ‘all’ over the ten rounds amidst a rowdy audience but it was the Gorton man from Champs Camp that got the narrow margin.
Also on the Coldwell Boxing promoted show billed as ‘Call of Duty’, home-fighters Liam Conroy of Barrow scored a points victory (59-55) against Polish-born Robert Studzinski of Llanelli, Wales, in a six round Super-Featherweight Contest and Liam Hanrahan of Macclesfield scored a first round TKO over Saul Tejada of Spain in their six round Super-Bantamweight Contest.
And Jack Catterall of Chorley forced a fifth round stoppage of Lithuanian Aleksas Vaseris in their six round Light-Welterweight Contest.
