The WBA Salutes Champions Danny Garcia, Gennady Golvkin

The World Boxing Association 140 lb champion Danny Garcia was selected as boxer of the month of March, according to that March ratings.

Garcia managed to come out victorious of his fourth defense when he defeated Mauricio Herrera in Puerto Rico, on March 15.

The honorable mention was awarded to Japanese Kohei Kono, who won the WBA super flyweight championship when he defeated Thailand’s Denkaosan Kaovichit on March 26 in Tokyo.

The WBA has scheduled nine world title fights in April.

World Boxing Association Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, turned 32 this week and the WBA celebrates the occasion with our most sincere words of greeting.

Golovin, a friendly, charismatic role model athlete, has been committed to boxing from his amateur days when he won the silver medal at the Athens 2004 Olympics.

He turned professional in 2006, and won the Interim Middleweight title in 2010. He was promoted to regular champion, and since then has defended on ten occasions.

Golovkin is a respected professional who is known for big punch and command of the ring and we are happy that he is a part of the family of the WBA.

Congratulations Champ!
