WBA Update: Moreno vs. Payano Title Clash Goes To Purse Bids

The World Boxing Association Championships Committee has summoned Purse Bids for the fight between the Panamanian Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno, 118-pound super world champion, and Juan Carlos Payano, mandatory challenger of the division.

The event will take place on May 23 at 11:00 am at the Headquarters of the World Boxing Association, located at Avenida Aquilino de la Guardia, c/c Calle 47, Edificio Ocean Business Plaza, 14th floor, office 14-05, Marbella, Panama City, Panama.

The bidding process will be directed by the Championships Committee vice chairman, Aurelio Fiengo.

On May 24, 2014 in Tijuana, Mexico, the super bantamweight female title fight between the World Boxing Association champion Jackie Nava, who is coming back to boxing, and the interim at the Alys “La China” Sanchez will take place.
The officials appointed for this fight are Romina Arroyo from Argentina, who will be the third person in the ring, while the score cards will be in charge of Gloria Rizzo (USA), Carla Caiz (USA) and Lynn Carter (USA).

The supervisor of the fight will be Noryoli Gil from Venezuela.

Once again the whole group of officials will be female.

This battle will be between the famous Aztec “Princess”, with a record of 28-4-3, 12 KO’s and the interim champion “La China” Sanchez, who is 12-1-1 , 4 KO ‘s.

Nava is coming back after being away from the ring since mid-2012 for her maternity leave, with the WBA permission.
