The World Boxing Association middleweight 160 lb Super world champion, the Kazakh Gennady Golovkin, won the July “Boxer of the Month” recognition after his recent title defense on Saturday, July 26 against Daniel Geale, at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The honorable mention of July was given to the Mexican born Californian, Mauricio Herrera, who just won the super lightweight 140 lb interim championship belt, defeating the Venezuelan Johan Pérez in Las Vegas, on July 12.
So decided the ratings Committee, when published the ranking of July, where the United States is the nation with the largest number of fighters in different categories, with 36 fighters.
As for the countries with the largest number of fighters in July ratings apart from USA, there is Japan with 17, Russia with 16, Mexico and Thailand with 15 each and Great Britain and Australia with 14 fighters.
Dominican Republic and Philippines have 10 each; Venezuela and Uzbekistan have 9; South Africa 8, Colombia and Ukraine have 7; Nicaragua and Puerto Rico have 6; closing with 5 Cubans and 4 Panamanians.
