On Saturday night, Luke Blackledge of Accrington won the vacant Commonwealth (British Empire) Super-Middleweight Title by unanimous points’ decision over Sheffield’s Liam Cameron.

Blackledge was relentless in his effort against ‘Cannonball’ Cameron. Constantly on the attack – the Accrington man dominated the rounds to score the deserved points win 117-112; 116-113; 115-114; and adds a second belt to his name having won the WBC International Silver Super-Middleweight Title in September.

The Steve Wood – VIP Promotions show at King George’s Hall, Blackburn, also featured five undercard bouts.

Isaac Lowe (Morecambe) v Jamie Quinn (Stockport)
8 x 3 Featherweight Contest

Lowe was originally to have faced Lee Glover for the English Featherweight title, but after Glover failed to make the weight – Quinn was brought in last minute and the title changed to the International Masters Bronze Featherweight title.

Faizy suffered defeat in a nightmare fight against Szot. The Afghanistan-born boxer just didn’t seem ‘on it’ and took a lot of shots to the face in round two then puts distance between him-self and the Polish man to see himself through the fight but Szot didn’t let him off the hook and wins 57-56
