On Saturday night, Luke Blackledge of Accrington won the vacant Commonwealth (British Empire) Super-Middleweight Title by unanimous points’ decision over Sheffield’s Liam Cameron.
Blackledge was relentless in his effort against ‘Cannonball’ Cameron. Constantly on the attack – the Accrington man dominated the rounds to score the deserved points win 117-112; 116-113; 115-114; and adds a second belt to his name having won the WBC International Silver Super-Middleweight Title in September.
The Steve Wood – VIP Promotions show at King George’s Hall, Blackburn, also featured five undercard bouts.
Isaac Lowe (Morecambe) v Jamie Quinn (Stockport)

Lowe was originally to have faced Lee Glover for the English Featherweight title, but after Glover failed to make the weight – Quinn was brought in last minute and the title changed to the International Masters Bronze Featherweight title.
Despite the pre-fight problems – Lowe secured a 78-75 points’ victory over a game Jamie Quinn.
AJ Faizy (Lower Darwen via Afghanistan) v Krzysztof Szot (Poland)

Faizy suffered defeat in a nightmare fight against Szot. The Afghanistan-born boxer just didn’t seem ‘on it’ and took a lot of shots to the face in round two then puts distance between him-self and the Polish man to see himself through the fight but Szot didn’t let him off the hook and wins 57-56
Adam Machaj (Oswaldtwistle) v Dean O’Loughlin (Hull)
4 x 3 Heavyweight Contest
Heat Seeker Machaj takes just 51 seconds to demolish O’Loughlin who was down twice.

Alex McCloy (Blackpool) v Mick Mills (Gillingham)
4 x 3 Super-Welterweight Contest
McCloy wins on points 40-37
Shakeeb Ali (Blackburn) v Jack Heath (Maidenhead)
4 x 3 Lightweight Contest
Ali faced last minute opponent Heath who was on the canvas three times in the opener.
