Last night, at Evoque Nightclub, Preston, England, Oliver Harrison Promotions hosted a fightnight which headlined the 12 round contest between South Africans – Tshifhiwa Munyai and Oscar Chauke. Originally scheduled as the IBF Inter-Continental Featherweight Title bout, the contest was demoted after Munyai gained too much weight overnight. Munyai won the contest by tenth round knockout after Chauke failed to meet the count.

The night also featured seven undercard bouts, results as follows:

Tshifhiwa Munyai (South Africa) v Oscar Chauke (South Africa)
12 x 3 Featherweight Contest

A steady start to the fight – with Munyai touching down in round one, though it was a no knockdown. There was a flurry of shots from both boxers at the end of the first.

Not a thrilling fight – but the action picked up in the latter rounds. That said, Chauke did find himself on the canvas in the closing half minute of round three.

Munyai’s punches strayed a little low throughout the contest and he was told by Referee Steve Grey to ‘keep the punches up’ in round 8.

Munyai lands a shot in the tenth which sees Chauke on the canvas. He sat for the count administered by Referee Grey but was counted out and helped on to his stool to recover.

Munyai wins by KO round 10

Liam Conroy (Barrow-in-Furness) v Elvis Dube (Derby)
4 x 3 Heavyweight Contest

Huge support for Liam Conroy who was in the closing contest of the night. It was action-packed for the first three rounds as Conroy kept busy – maybe too busy (!) as he seemed overly keen to impress and his eagerness made for a ‘sloppy’ fight at times. He kept firing in the shots (which looked heavy) but tired in the fourth and last round. Dube kept focused, as always, throughout.

Conroy wins on points 40-37

Malcolm Klassen (South Africa) v Raynaldo Cajina (Spain, via Nicaragua)
6 x 3 Lightweight Contest

Klassen had Cajina on the back foot in round one, edging him backwards around the edge of the ring. He dominated Cajina in those first two rounds but then looked to switch off in the third and was caught a couple of times. He was switched on again in the fourth round and landed a peach of an uppercut in the opening minute of the round before letting the shots go in the second half of the fourth.

Klassen gets the win on points 59-56

Marc Leach (Salford) v Mihaly Telekfi (Nyíregyhaza, Hungary)
4 x 3 Super Bantamweight Contest

Leach looked in a ‘class above’ tonight. He was impressive, whipping out the jab continuously, he looked slick and his shots were lightning fast. For me, the best of the night.

Leach gets the points win 40-36

Sean Creagh (Dublin, Ireland) v Arvydas Trizno (Klaipeda, Lithuania)
4 x 3 Super Welterweight Contest

Creagh threw some thumping shots but looked a bit clumsy.

Trizno looked bothered by a body-shot in round one but caught the Irish man with a couple of decent shots in the last round, before ‘going for a walk’ in the ring (!) almost as if he’d gotten bored.

Creagh gets the points win 40-37

Michael Ramabeletsa (Preston, via South Africa) v Dmitrijs Gutmans (Riga, Latvia)
4 x 3 Super Featherweight Contest

Referee Mark Lyson found himself on the canvas in round 1 of this four-rounder! He had been unable to jump clear of the action and stumbled to the canvas – much to the shock of onlookers (least of all himself!)

Gutmans was (also) on the canvas in round 4 but sees out the end of the fight with local man – Ramabeletsa, scoring a 40-35 points victory.

Ashley Peyton (Atherton) v Alec Bazza (Belfast, N.Ireland)
4 x 3 Welterweight Contest

A good win for Ash Peyton who had his opponent down twice in round three but had to settle for a points win 40-34

Josh McLaren (Stoke-on-Trent) v Santos Medrano (Barcelona, Spain, via Nicaragua)
4 x 3 Super Lightweight

McLaren wins on points 40-36

  • Chris Billam-Smith vs Ryan Rozicki 03/06/2026
Chris Billam Smith fighting for Zuffa for the first time this Saturday. I think he is being set up to face Jai Opetia later in the contract. CBS became world champion when more talented British boxers like Okole and Riakporhe did not. In fact he beat both and forced them to go up to heavyweight. Chris got easily beaten by Zurdo in a unification and we all kn […]
