At Bowlers Exhibition Centre, Manchester, on Friday night, Keiran Farrell, BEM, hosted a sold-out dinner show featuring ten contests. In the headliner, Bolton boxer – Osman Aslam, made short work of Bulgarian opponent Georgi Georgiev by ousting him in round one of their scheduled eight-rounder.

Osman Aslam (Bolton) v Georgi Georgiev (Sofia, Bulgaria)
8 x 3 Bantamweight Contest

It was a quick nights’ work for Bolton man Aslam who had his (last minute) opponent down twice in the opener to score a first round TKO

Reece Cartwright (Leeds) v Giorgi Kandelaki (Gori, Georgia)
6 x 3 Middleweight Contest

Kandelaki was floored by a body-shot in the fourth round and, while still on his knees in agony, was counted out by Referee Darren Sarginson.

Cartwright wins by KO round 4

Jack Sellars (Halifax) v Chris Jenkinson (Bolton)
4 x 3 Super-Welterweight Contest

Jenkinson (aka ‘Twinny’) sustained a nasty cut to the left eyelid in the fifth which saw him on his knees unable to see out of the eye. It later emerged that he’d had an elbow in the eye that caused the damage.

Sellars wins by a technical count out by Referee Sarginson round 5

Zahid Hussain (Leeds) v Khvicha Gigolashvili (Georgia)
6 x 3 Featherweight Contest

Hussain gets the points’ win 60-54

Danny Craven (Warrington) v Nathan Hardy (Sheffield)
4 x 3 Welterweight Contest

Hardy was on the canvas in round one but pulled it back to make it a closer contest with Craven nicking the points’ win 39-37

George Brennan (Altrincham) v Jordan Turner (Sutton-in-Ashfield)
4 x 3 Super-Bantamweight Contest

Brennan wins on points 40-37

Lee Clayton (Heywood) v Dmitrijs Gutmans (Riga, Latvia)
4 x 3 Super-Bantamweight Contest

Clayton was dropped twice in round two and unable to continue.

Gutmans wins by TKO round 2

Ryan Watson (Ulverston, Cumbria) v Youssef Al Hamidi (Dewsbury)
4 x 3 Lightweight Contest

A close contest but Watson loses out to experienced Al Hamidi.

Al Hamidi wins on points 39-38

Reece MacMillan (Morecambe) v Fonz Alexander (Newark)
4 x 3 Super-Lightweight Contest

MacMillan wins on points 40-37

Jay Carney (Liverpool) v Russ Midgley (Leeds)
4 x 3 Super-Featherweight Contest

Carney wins on points 40-36
