Cheshire heavyweight, Nathan Gorman, made short work of Georgian opponent Gogita Gorgiladze last night at the Fenton Manor Sports Complex in Stoke-on-Trent. The Nantwich man, trained by Ricky Hatton, delivered a peach of a body-shot in round one which sent Gorgiladze to the canvas. He got up at the end of the count but was still suffering from the blow and unable to continue. Gorman now goes on to face Dominic Akinlade for the vacant BBBofC English Heavyweight Title at Crystal Palace on the 1st April.
Also on the Hatton Promotions show billed as 'Time to Shine', Reuben Arrowsmith of Market Harborough scored a draw (77-77) with Ryan Toms of Northolt as they clashed for the British Classic Challenge Belt. Stoke-on-Trent boxer, Kieran McLaren, retained his British Classic Challenge Belt by scoring an 80-74 points victory over Michael Mooney of Worcester in an 8-round Lightweight contest. But the fight of the night belonged to Craig Morris and Ryan Fields who gave great performances - with Fields winning the BBBofC Midlands Area Welterweight Title on points (99-93).
Six undercard bouts completed the packed show.
