Ford defends his WBA-Continental belt against Medina – World Boxing Association

The World Boxing Association (WBA) continental featherweight champion, American Raymond Ford, will return to the ring on June 25 to defend his title against Richard Medina in a fight of young undefeated fighters.

The bout was included as part of the undercard of the event to be held at the Tech Port Arena, in San Antonio, Texas, which will feature Murodjon Akhmadaliev facing Ronny Rios in a mandatory fight for the WBA super bantamweight super championship.

Ford will be looking for a third defense of his regional belt but will have a tough test ahead of him. The 23-year-old fighter has looked good in his recent performances and intends to keep the streak going.

Medina is just 21 years old, is also undefeated and will be getting his first shot at a belt of this type. The San Antonio native will be at home, which is a plus for him and he will try to surprise.

Ford has 13 wins, no losses, 1 draw and 6 knockouts. Medina, on the other hand, has 11 wins and 7 knockouts.
