Hyun Mi Choi for the tenth defense at 130 lbs – World Boxing Association

After making her first fight on U.S. soil in 2020, World Boxing Association super featherweight world champion Hyun Mi Choi made a single fight last year and will now seek a new defense on home soil on Aug. 15.

On this occasion, she will fight 27-year-old Aka Ringo, the WBO Asian bantamweight champion. Ringo will be looking for a big challenge in three divisions above and against a historic fighter like Choi.

Dubbed as “The Desert Fighter”, Choi signed an expectant contract with Matchroom there for 2020, but this next presentation will be outside the English promoter.

Since 2013, when Choi conquered the WBA super featherweight belt, she has been waiting for the big challenges and stages of the world within the division. For various reasons, she has yet to get the opportunity she has been longing for, but she is looking to keep up her pace of activity in the ring.

Choi, 31 years old, has a total of 19 fights won with 5 knockouts and 1 draw. While Ringo will come in undefeated in 3 bouts with 2 quick finishes.
