Rankin defends against Harper in Nottingham – World Boxing Association

Super welterweight champion Hannah Rankin will return to the ring on September 24 to make the second defense of her belt against Terri Harper at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England.

Matchroom Boxing announced the bout on Wednesday and the champion has an interesting challenge. Rankin won the title on November 5 of last year by defeating veteran Maria Lindberg and defended and later defeated Mexican Alejandra Ayala last May.

Harper is very talented and will be moving up in weight, yet she feels confident that she can dethrone the champion despite the fact that there are many doubts surrounding her.

Ranking comes in with a record of 12 wins, 5 losses and 3 knockouts, while Harper has 12 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 6 knockouts.
