Zepeda-Diaz will be WBA eliminator – World Boxing Association

This Saturday’s bout between William Zepeda and Joseph Diaz, to be held at the Pechanga Arena, in San Diego, California, will be a World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight eliminator.

This will be Golden Boy main event where both fighters will step into the ring and the winner will move closer to a shot at the WBA world title.

Zepeda is one of the most impressive 135-pound prospects. The 26-year-old from San Mateo Atenco is a clean-cut, hard-hitting fighter who has been steadily working his way up the ranks. He is a former WBA Continental Americas champion and now hopes to get a world title shot at 26 years of age.

Zepeda’s opponent will be veteran “Jo Jo” Diaz, a fighter known around the world who has fought great fights and has this fight as a great opportunity to return. In his most recent fight in December 2021 he lost to champion Devin Haney by unanimous decision so he wants to get back to winning ways against Zepeda.

“Camaron is undefeated in 26 fights, with 23 knockouts, while Diaz has 32 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 15 knockouts.
