Jennifer “Hormiga” Meza, native of Buenos Aires, Argentine faced the most demanding challenge of her career and she overcame it. On Saturday night at the Club Deportivo Jorge Newbery, in the city of Galvez, province of Santa Fe, Argentina, Meza defeated Venezuelan Johana Zuñiga by technical knockout in the fourth round and won the Fedelatin belt of the World Boxing Association in the minimum category.
With the aim of climbing the world rankings, Jennifer Meza achieved an important victory that puts her one step closer. Owner of the Argentine national flyweight championship and an aggressive style, Meza started the fight against Zuñiga with disadvantages: the difference in height, reach and experience with a rival who had already come from some world fights in which she had already lost.
The first round was in favor of the Venezuelan fighter who knew how to use her advantages. However, in the second round, things took a turn, putting Meza in superiority by shortening the distance with precision in dodging Zuñiga’s long punches and with the success of powerful volleys that finally earned her the end of the fight for the fourth round.
