Yoohanngoh retained his WBA-Asian belt in Bangkok  – World Boxing Association

Thailand’s Phoobadin Yoohanngoh retained his World Boxing Association (WBA) Asian super lightweight belt with a unanimous decision win over India’s Vanlalawmpuia on Saturday at the SpacePlus RCA in Bangkok.

The home fighter won cards of 97-94, 96-94 and 97-93 after a tough fight that he was able to resolve thanks to his strength and his ability in the 10 rounds of bout.

Yoohanngoh, 19, faced an opponent who demanded a lot from me and was a test for his young career. The Thai native overcame this challenge in a good way and defended his Asian belt for the sixth time to remain one of the most exciting young fighters in the continent.

Yohanngoh’s undefeated record stands at 16 fights, of which he has won 9 by knockout. For his part, Vanlalawmpuia now has 6 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 4 knockouts.
