Taylor-Serrano 2 postponed due to Serrano’s injury – World Boxing Association

Matchroom Boxing, the promoter in charge of the rematch for the undisputed lightweight title between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, informed that it will be postponed due to an injury suffered by the Puerto Rican.

The fight was scheduled for May 20, in Ireland, but the report of Serrano’s injury forced to suspend it for the moment and will wait for the recovery of the challenger to announce a new date for this great confrontation.

Serrano has just won the undisputed featherweight title and will return to lightweight to challenge Taylor for the second time. Their first bout in April 2022 was the best fight of the year and ended with a close win for Taylor in New York.

The public is anxious to see them back in the ring and it is bad news for the show and women’s boxing to postpone this highly anticipated bout.

The WBA wishes Serrano a prompt recovery and will be monitoring her fitness, as well as the new date for the bout.
