Carrillo retained his Fedelatin title against Garcia in Panama – World Boxing Association

Colombian Leonardo Carrillo maintained his undefeated record and retained his World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedelatin super bantamweight crown with a clear victory over Moises Garcia on Saturday at the El Panama Hotel in Panama City.

Carrillo made the first defense of his crown with scores of 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91 by the judges, in a very special night for Panamanian boxing in which tribute was paid to Aurelio Fiengo, director of the WBA.

Carrillo had won the title last August 28, 2021 and although he has been active since then, different factors had not allowed him to defend the crown. Now he had the opportunity to put it on the line and managed to retain it for the first time.

The Colombian continues to move up in the division and is looking to gain notoriety and access to more important fights, while he has shown what he is capable of doing in the ring.

It was the 16th win of his career, he is undefeated and has one draw, in addition to 8 knockouts. Garcia, on the other hand, has 10 wins, 9 losses, 1 draw and 4 knockouts.
