One month to go for Canelo vs Ryder  – World Boxing Association

Saul Alvarez’s return to his homeland has great meaning for his career and for Mexican boxing. On May 6, the tapatío will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Middleweight Super Championship, as well as the WBC, WBO and IBF belts against John Ryder at the mythical Chivas Stadium in Guadalajara and the whole world is waiting for this moment.

One month before the fight, the atmosphere has been measured through the good response in terms of ticket purchases and, of course, how the fans have been watching the promotional press conferences and the whole ambiance around this fight.

Boxing legends, specialists and analysts have been talking about the importance and significance of the fight, which will be Alvarez’s first presentation in his country since 2011, when he fought in Mexico City against Puerto Rican Kermit Cintron.

Ryder, for his part, has been very motivated and this has been seen in his speeches during the press conferences that took place in Mexico and San Diego a few days ago. The Brit has said that a victory over Canelo would be life-changing and that is exactly what he will be looking for.

Both men remain in their respective training camps with about four weeks to go before they face each other at the Zapopan stadium.
