Jean Junior Messi is new WBA East Asia champion  – World Boxing Association

Cameroon’s Jean Junior Messi won the World Boxing Association (WBA) East Asia welterweight belt by defeating Afghanistan’s Ahmad Samir Dawrani at the SpacePlus Arena, Bangkok, Thailand. 

The African scored a first round technical knockout to score an important victory in his career and become a regular champion during his visit to Asia. 

Messi is a Dubai-based fighter who has been looking for his opportunities and did not hesitate to fight for the regional title when the opportunity presented itself. The 25-year-old boxer scored a resounding victory that demonstrates his growth and evolution within the sport. 

With the victory, Messi reached 7 in his career, while he has 1 loss and 4 knockouts. Dawrani dropped his record to 9 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw.
