Giyasov dominates Calderon in WBA eliminator – World Boxing Association

Shakhram Giyasov defeated Harold Calderon with wide scorecards in their World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight eliminator fight held last Saturday night at the Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Uzbek earned a unanimous decision of 120-108, 118-110 and 116-112 after going 12 rounds to earn a big win for his career.

Giyasov was able to work the distance and add rounds to be in complete control of a fight that was tough on paper. The 29-year-old fighter has adapted well to 147 pounds and is moving forward in his intention to fight for a world crown in the short or medium term.

It was the 14th professional career victory for “Wonder Boy”, who has won 9 fights by knockout. For his part, Calderon lost his undefeated record and now has a record of 27 wins, 1 loss and 18 knockouts.
