Romero and Cruz in a clash of styles in Las Vegas – World Boxing Association

Rolando Romero and Isaac Cruz will fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the World Boxing Association (WBA) super lightweight belt this Saturday night.

“Rolly” will defend his 140-pound championship against “Pitbull” in an interesting fight that promises to be action-packed and an entertaining clash of styles.

The American of Cuban origin defeated Ismael Barroso in May of last year to win the black and gold belt. After a difficult fight in which he went to the canvas early in the fight, Romero recovered and ended up winning after the referee stopped the action in the ninth round.

Romero knows how to adapt to various fighting styles, he knows how to move around the ring and counterpunch, and he can attack if the fight so requires.

Cruz, a Mexican known for his toughness, is going for a new starting opportunity. He is on a streak of three victories against high-level rivals, he is left-handed and has the characteristic Mexican style that has given so much glory to boxing in his country. The 25-year-old fighter will try to impose all his tools to stop Romero from winning the title.

The champion has 15 wins, 1 loss and 13 knockouts, while the challenger arrives with a record of 25 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 17 knockouts.
