Cuban super welterweight Yoelvis Gómez will defend his WBA Continental Americas title this Saturday night at the Caribe Royale Hotel in Orlando, Florida, against unbeaten local contender Antraveous Ingram.
The 28-year-old “Joya” Gómez will make the first defense of the belt he won on August 22, when he edged Edwine Humaine by majority decision in the same venue that will once again host his return to the ring.
Since suffering the first loss of his career to Marquis Taylor in 2023, Gómez has been on a solid comeback trail. He’s picked up three straight wins, two of them by knockout, and his recent regional crown has earned him exposure on major cards and renewed momentum in the world rankings.
Across the ring will be Ingram, a 27-year-old native of Kissimmee, Florida, who remains undefeated since turning professional in 2022. Having fought most of his bouts at the Caribe Royale, Ingram will be fighting on familiar turf and motivated to capture his first regional title. In his last outing, he stopped Jeremiah Robinson on September 19, showing sharp timing and confidence heading into the biggest fight of his career.
Gómez enters the bout with a record of 9 wins, 1 loss, and 7 knockouts, while Ingram stands at 12-0 with 6 KOs. Both men have plenty on the line — one looking to consolidate his resurgence, the other aiming to make a statement on home soil.
