TKO Boxing Announce “Battle Of York 3” March 7

World class professional boxing returns to York, Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 7 as TKO Boxing Promotions presents “Battle Of York 3″ at the Valencia Ballroom.

“We’re thrilled to return to the Valencia Ballroom for our third event,” said Chet Koerner, President of TKO Boxing Promotions,

“Last summer, and most recently in November, it was very apparent how passionate the boxing fans in York were and TKO is committed to bringing outstanding events to them. We’ve drawn big crowds at our first two shows in York and we strongly encourage fans to purchase tickets in advance.”

Headlining the “Battle Of York 3” will be favorite son, undefeated featherweight Carney “Beeper” Bowman. In his last fight on November 8, Bowman, 12-0-0 (5), thrilled the packed house at the Valencia Ballroom with a fourth round stoppage of Castulo Gonzalez.

The co-main event will see the return to the ring of popular super bantamweight Eric Nemo. Having been off since May of 2007, Nemo 6-1-1 (2), will look to make a splash in the first hometown bout of his professional career.

Further details of both bouts will be announced shortly.

Making his first appearance in York, PA will be junior middleweight contender Anthony ‘The Messenger” Thompson. The always entertaining Thompson, 23-3-0 (17), is coming off a highly controversial ESPN televised appearance this past August.

Facing Ishmail Arvin, Thompson suffered a cut from an accidental head butt in the third, after dropping Arvin twice in the same round. At the end of the sixth round, the bout was stopped and awarded to Arvin instead of going to the scorecards in a bout that Thompson was easily winning.

Also returning to the Valencia Ballroom is fast rising cruiserweight prospect, Andres “ Taylor Made” Taylor of nearby Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Since turning professional less than a year ago, the former amateur standout has quickly moved his record to 5-0-1 (2). Taylor is coming off a devastating first round knockout of Philip Jewel at the War Memorial Arena in his hometown on January 24th.

Rounding out the card, fellow undefeated prospects from the Dominican Republic, super featherweight Delvin Plascencia, 15-0-0 (6), and junior welterweight knockout artist Francisco Contreras, 8-0-0 (8), will see action in separate bouts.

Advance tickets, starting at $25 can be purchased through the Valencia Ballroom box office by calling 717-843-7672. The Valencia Ballroom is located at 142 N. George St. in downtown York. Doors on the evening of the event will open at 6:30pm, with the first bell at 7:30.
