8 Count Boxing Invites Chicago Fans To UIC Pavilion Open House

ByBoxing Press 10/03/2009

Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions will host a fan’s open house at the UIC Pavilion on Thursday, March 12th at 7pm in advance of their upcoming “Windy City Fight Night” premiere on Friday, March 27 featuring a ten round junior middleweight showdown between Chicago favorite “Macho” Miguel Hernandez and Luciano “El Michoacano” Perez.

“With our new downtown home at the UIC Pavilion we wanted to give the fans a chance to see how it will look on fight night, check out their seats, meet the fighters and it gives them a chance to attend the press conference where we’ll be announcing further details of our first ‘Windy City Fight Night’ event on March 27th” said Pesoli.

In keeping with the tradition started last year, each yearly anniversary of 8 Count Productions promoting world class professional boxing in Chicago will bring another class of inductees into their Hall of Fame.

Continued Pesoli, “The March show starts our 12th year and we’re truly honored that Chicago boxing fans have shown tremendous support to us throughout the years. Last year we inducted Mike Garcia and Rocky Martinez into our Hall of Fame and we’ll be announcing three new members at the open house.”

Free parking for the open house is available in Parking Lot 07, immediately East of the venue on the North Side of Harrison St. Please mention the event to the attendant.

Two of Chicago’s proudest warriors, “Macho” Miguel Hernandez and Luciano “El Gallo Michoacano” Perez will battle in the main event at the inaugural “Windy City Fight Night” on Friday, March 27th at the UIC Pavilion, presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions.

Hernandez brings a record of 20-8-0 (10) into the bout with Perez who sports a record of 16-9-1 (14). The scheduled ten round battle will be contested for the World Boxing Foundation Americas Middleweight Title.

Advance tickets, starting at $30, for “Windy City Fight Night” are now on sale through the UIC Pavilion Box Office (312-413-5740) and through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com). A full undercard will be announced shortly. Doors on the evening of the event will open at 7pm with the first bell at 8pm.
