Sensational lightweight prospect Bayan Jargal returns to the ring this Saturday night in the co-main event at the seven bout “Triple Threat: Tomorrow’s Champions II” professional boxing event, against veteran Brian Carden in a scheduled six round bout at the Sportsplex in Winchester, VA.
The bout against Carden will be Jargal’s third in 2009 and promoter Terry Lane of Let’s Get It On Promotions feels Jargal, 11-0-1 (8), is ready to take on any other lightweight prospect in boxing.
Said Lane, “We’re more than ready at this point. We’re looking to put Bayan in a high profile fight on either Shobox or ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights against any of the other top level lightweight prospects. This is a great time for boxing and the fans are always looking for the next rising star and we truly believe Bayan is that guy.”
Jargal’s two previous appearances in 2009 included a first round knockout of Walberto Gaxiola on January 23 in Las Vegas and a third round stoppage of Reggie Nash on March 14 at the Winchester Sportsplex.
“Bayan’s got great knockout power and very good controlled use of his aggression,” continued Lane. “The perfect formula for fan-friendly fights”.
The 31 year old Carden, fighting out of St. Joseph , Missouri , brings a record of 8-7 (7) into the battle with Jargal.
Said Lane, “Carden’s got six first round knockouts, so the fans will probably see both guys firing bombs from the opening bell.”
Jargal is managed by J.D. Brown who has managed former world champions William Joppy and DeMarcus Corley and also worked as an advisor for Sugar Ray Leonard.
Featured in the main event, Andrew Farmer, 11-1 (7), of nearby Fort Royal, VA, currently riding a seven bout winning streak, will battle Crossville, TN veteran Marty Robbins, 22-42-1 (15,) in an eight round junior welterweight bout.
Also featured in separate bouts are lightweight Jaime Palma, 13-13-1 (3), and local heavyweight Scott Hossaflook.
“Triple Threat: Tomorrow’s Champions II” is presented by Let’s Get It On Promotions, TKO Boxing Promotions and Left Hook Llc.
The Sportsplex is located at 221 Commonwealth Court in Winchester, VA. Doors on the evening of the event will open at 6:30pm with the first bell at 7:30pm.
