Sensational lightweight prospect Bayan Jargal stayed unbeaten on Saturday night with a devastating first round knockout of Brian Carden in the co-main event of “Triple Threat: Tomorrow’s Champions 11” at the Sportsplex in Winchester, Virginia.
From the opening bell, Jargal took the fight right to the St. Louis native with crunching body shots that slowed the early aggressiveness of Carden.
Trapped against the ropes and absorbing a great deal of punishment from Jargal, Carden’s corner called a halt to the barrage with seven seconds remaining in the opening stanza.
Said Terry Lane of Let’s Get It On Promotions, “We’re very pleased with Bayan’s performance. Carden had a slew of early knockouts on his record and came out swinging fast and hard at Bayan. But Bayan’s body shots slowed him down and once he trapped him against the ropes late in the round, we knew the end was near.”
With the win, Jargal improves to 12-0-1 with eight knockouts while Carden’s record evens at 8-8 with seven knockouts.
“Next up is hopefully a TV fight either on Shobox or ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights. I really want the whole world to be able to see Bayan. We think he’s amongst the best prospects in boxing” said Lane.
