Shabaz Masoud Defeated Mansilla for the WBA International Featherweight Title – World Boxing Association

An outstanding display of precision, footwork and ring generalship cemented unbeaten British stylist Shabaz Masoud’s status as he turned in a dominant performance against Argentina’s Ckari Cani Mansilla. Masoud controlled the action from start to finish, earning a unanimous decision victory to retain the WBA International Featherweight Championship.

The ringside judges’ scorecards reflected Masoud’s complete command of the fight. All three judges scored the bout 100-90, giving the Stoke-on-Trent native a clean sweep after 10 rounds of highly polished boxing.

From the opening bell, Masoud dictated the terms with a sharp, accurate jab and exceptional fluidity at mid-range. His well-timed pivots and precise movement repeatedly left Mansilla’s attacks falling short. The Argentine pressed forward with determination, trying to cut off the ring, but he consistently ran into Masoud’s disciplined defense and quick two- and three-punch counters.

Masoud maintained the same pace throughout the second half of the fight, mixing attacks to the body with sharp hooks upstairs to keep Mansilla from mounting any sustained rally. Mansilla showed tremendous toughness and battled through to the final bell, but the night belonged entirely to Masoud, who retained his regional championship with a dominant performance.
