Sarah Bormann Defends WBA Crown Against Undefeated Chaima Bounouar in Karlsruhe – World Boxing Association

Karlsruhe, Germany, will take center stage in the 105-pound division on October 31, when hometown champion Sarah “Babyface” Bormann puts her WBA Minimumweight World Title on the line against talented, undefeated Spanish challenger Chaima Bounouar in one of the division’s most anticipated matchups.

Bormann is a disciplined boxer with a solid work rate who typically builds her victories by controlling distance behind her lead left hand and managing the rounds with veteran composure. The German champion will look to establish her rhythm from the opening bell, preventing the challenger from gaining confidence while dictating the pace with crisp, straight-punch combinations.

Across the ring, Bounouar faces the biggest challenge of her professional career. The Spain-based fighter arrives in Germany with the confidence, hunger, and momentum that come with an unblemished record. She knows there is little room for a cautious approach on the road. Her strategy will revolve around closing the distance aggressively, applying steady pressure to breach the champion’s guard, and targeting the body to wear down Bormann and limit her mobility in the middle rounds.

The matchup promises an intriguing contrast between the champion’s experience, composure, and precision and the challenger’s speed, fighting spirit, and fearless aggression.
