Boxing Results: Tyson Fury Vs Neven Pajkic

ByJane Warburton 13/11/2011

Last night, at EventCity, Manchester, Hennessy Sports promoted a fightnight which headlined an exciting contest between Heavyweight Giant – Tyson Fury of Wilsmlow, Cheshire and Neven Pajkic of Canada (Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia And Herzegovina).

Fury towered over his opponent as they faced each other at the start of this scheduled twelve round Heavyweight Contest. But it was a messy start with loose, wild shots from Pajkic and Fury looking like he’s waiting for it to settle down a bit (!)

Pajkic is the one driving forward while Fury stands off. The second round sees more wild swinging overhead shots from Pajkic and Fury raises his gloves in the air as if to say ‘yeah – bring it on!’. But a big right sends the favourite to the canvas and the crowd are in uproar as Fury gets up to take the count! Both men engage in a messy brawl and the crowds are all on their feet! Fury is caught by another right punch in the closing seconds of the round and holds on till the bell.

Fury starts the third – again as though he’s waiting – but it gets scrappy as both men tangle together. Fury lands a big uppercut mid-way through the frame and pressures his opponent who ends up part-way to the canvas – springing off the ropes. Pajkic is counted and the crowds are going crazy! Both men go after the big-shot but Pajkic is too wild and misses – overbalancing as Fury lands the right. Pajkic goes down to the canvas and takes another count. He ‘gets back in there’ and lands a right as Fury ‘comes in’. Pajkic has his head bowed as Fury throws shots and Referee Phil Edwards steps in to stop the contest – much to the disapproval of both men!

Even as the M.C. announces the decision – Pajkic grabs the Mic shouting “I wanted to continue!”

Tyson Fury wins by third round TKO and improves to 17 wins (12 by KO) no losses, while Pajkic’s record now stands at 16 wins (5 by KO) 1 loss (1 by KO)

Also on the Bill, son of Former Middle and Super-Middleweight Champion – Chris Eubank, made his pro-debut. Chris Eubank jnr faced Kirilas Psonko of Lithuania.

Entering the ring to the sounds of ‘Simply the Best’ (as his Father used to) – Eubank faced Psonko for a six round Super-Middleweight Contest.

Eubank looked classy against Psonko, but Dad (watching intently ringside) was keen for him to target the body of his opponent after the opening round….which he duly does as they come out for the second frame. Finding the gap behind the elbow – Eubank does land a couple of shots to the body.

Psonko is under pressure from Eubank in the fourth round and is stopped by Referee Michael Alexander.

Eubank jnr notches up his first pro-win by stoppage.

Psonko drops to 8 wins (6 by KO) 16 losses (7 by KO) and 1 draw.
