On Saturday, Barrie Jones (Ferndale, Wales) won the vacant Welsh Area Light Middleweight Title defeating Gary Cooper (Bargoed, Wales) on points. The ‘Inner Core Promotions’ show at Aberdare, Wales, featured five contests.
Hatton Promotions hosted a fight-night at Lava & Ignite, Preston, which featured five four-round contests of local boxers.
Enzo Maccarinelli made a welcome return on Friday night. The Welshman (now at Light-Heavyweight) scored a first round TKO over Hungarian – Gyorgy Marosa, at the York Hall, Bethnal Green. The George and Francis Warren / Queensberry Promotions event headlined the vacant Southern Area Cruiserweight Title contest between Londoners – Tony Conquest and Toks Owoh. Essex man Conquest won on points.
And at Walsall Town Hall, Tividales’ Jason Welborn scored a third round TKO over Sean McKervey of Coventry to win the Midlands Area Welterweight Title. The First Team Promotions event also featured Martin Gethin’s return to the ring after a nineteen month break. The Walsall man secured a points win over Polishman – Arek Malek in a four round Lightweight Contest.
