
Saturday night, Brian Magee of Belfast, Northern Ireland, successfully defended his Interim WBA World Super Middleweight Title by fifth round knockout of Rudy Markussen of Copenhagen, at the Brondby Hallen, Denmark.
Magee’s record now stands at 36 wins (25 by KO) 4 losses (2 by KO) and 1 draw.
At Olympiahalle, Munich, Germany, Londoner – ‘Delboy’ Dereck Chisora took Heavyweight Champion – Vitali Klitschko the distance in their WBC Heavyweight Title fight. Klitschko scored a Unanimous Points Decision.
Klitschko won the Title in 2004 and has successfully defended it ten times.
Chisora now awaits his fate – after he and David Haye began brawling at the post-fight press conference.
Also on the Klitschko Bill, ‘Swifty’ Stephen Smith of Liverpool scored a first round TKO over Hungarian – Arpad Vass. He now goes on to fight Ben Jones for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Featherweight Title on the 2nd March.
In Rotherham, Sheffields Kid Galahad out-pointed Jason Booth of Nottingham to win the WBC International Super-Bantamweight Title. Also on the Hennessy Bill – Chris Eubank Junior (Brighton) won his six-round Middleweight contest against Jason Ball (Doncaster) on points and Lenny Daws (Morden) won on points against Chris Truman (Birmingham) in their eight-round Middleweight contest.
And finally, Heavyweight Giant – Tyson Fury, announced that he would be facing Martin Rogan in Belfast on April 14th.
Fury recently vacated his British and Commonwealth Heavyweight titles when the proposed fight against English Heavyweight Champion – David Price, fell through.
