Also in action on the boxing card held last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, Dmitriy “Star of David” Salita kept his unbeaten record with a ninth round technical knockout of Shawn Gallegos. Salita, trained by Oscar Suarez of Naseem Hamed and Acelino Freitas fame, is becoming a talked about fixture in the light welterweight division that is absolutely brimming with quality fighters from head to foot. At only twenty-three-years-old, Salita may well become one of the great young stars of the division. Salita’s record now stands at twenty-three wins with fourteen stoppages.
