Diaz Keeps Rolling with Win Over Davis.

Oscar Diaz kept his world title hopes alive last night in Norman, Oklahoma, bettering replacement opponent Thomas Davis over ten rounds on ESPN 2’s Friday Night Fights card. The much more experienced Diaz proved adept at getting inside his taller adversary’s attempts to keep the Texan on the outside and built up a big lead. In the latter stages of the bout Davis turned on the offense to try and turn the tide and did have some success, illuminating Diaz’s defensive lapses. It was too little too late, particularly as Oscar Diaz found the steering wheel again in the last rounds to take control. Diaz moves ahead building his record to 22-1 (11) while Davis falls to 9-3-1 (5).
