UK Weekend Roundup

It’s been a quieter weekend for UK Boxing this week.

In Leeds, Derek Roche (Rebel Promotions) promoted five contests with four wins and one draw for the home boxers.

The Beachcomber Club, Cleethorpes played host to a Carl Greaves promoted fight-night, in which the headliner saw Gary Sykes of Dewsbury win the vacant English Super Featherweight Title by Unanimous Decision over the home fighter – Kevin Hooper of Grimsby.

At the York Hall, Bethnal Green, ‘Big Bad’ John McDermott of Horndon won the vacant English Heavyweight Title by Unanimous Decision over Matt Skelton of Bedford.

And we hear this week that Heavyweight David Haye will make his ring return in July against an –as yet unnamed- opponent.
