Boxing PPV Extravaganza: \”Collision Course: A Night of Champions”

ByBoxing Press 26/01/200626/01/2006

Virgil Hill vs. Valery Brudov at the Tropicana in Atlantic City this Friday

The WBA “regular” cruiserweight championship match between former three-time world champion Virgil “Quicksilver” Hill (49-5, 23 KOs) and No. 1 contender Valery Brudov (20-0, 23 KOs) headlines Friday night’s (January 27) “Collision Course, A Night of Champions” pay-per-view extravaganza live at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The Hill-Brodov 12-round main event is strongly supported on the PPV show by two other great 12-round title fights: Former two-time world champion Stevie “Lil’ But Bad” Johnston (37-3-1, 17 KOs), the reigning NABC light welterweight champion, presently rated No. 9 by the WBC, faces ex-NABF and WBC Fecarbox lightweight title-holder Steve “The Mongoose” Quinonez (31-9-1, 11 KOs) for the vacant IBO light welterweight; popular “Mighty” Mike Aranoutis (14-0-2, 6 KOs) defends his NABO super lightweight crown versus Mark Thompson (13-0).

“Collision Course, A Night of Champions” is promoted by Star Boxing, and presented by Silverhawk Boxing, Guilty Boxing, and Xyience. The special pay-per-view event is offered in the United States, Canada, France, Russia, Indonesia and Greece at a suggested retail price of only $24.95. The PPV show, starting at 9 PM/ET, may be ordered by contacting local cable television providers (televised on In Demand, TVN, Viewers Choice Canada, Star Choice and Shaw Communications).

In addition to the exciting PPV tripleheader, the “live” action also finds world light heavyweight contender Prince Badi Ajamu (24-2-1, 13 KOs), rated No. 11 by the WBC, defending his WBC Continental Americas light heavyweight title and fights for the NABO belt against Galen Brown (22-3-1, 15 KOs) in another 12-round bout.

Johnston and Prince Badi, both fighting out of Vero Beach (FL), are promoted by Silverhawk Boxing, managed by Rider Boxing, and trained by famed Buddy McGirt.
