Can Beck Hit Boxing Jackpot Against Valuev?

Heavyweight hopeful Owen Beck finally gets a world title shot after twenty seven contests but will have to pull off what has fast become a suicide mission; challenging the truly mammoth Nickolay Valuev in Germany. The towering, seven foot tall, three hundred and twenty pound Russian, 43-0 (31), has chewed up a fair amount of second tier American based opponents in the last year and a half including Larry Donald, Gerald Nobles, Cliff Etienne and Attila Levin before posting a majority decision over visiting WBA Champion John Ruiz last December.

Beck, 25-2 (18), isn’t exactly overqualified to challenge for the WBA title, having defeated blown up cruiserweight Darnell Wilson and losing to Monte Barrett and Ray Austin over the past fifteen months and will have to pull off the performance of his life to wrest the belt from the “Beast From The East”.

On the undercard, European Middleweight Champion Sebastian Sylvester, 21-1 (9), places his crown in harms way against Finnish challenger Amin Asikainen, 17-0 (13).
