Lightweight favourite Kevin Mitchell is back in action on July 6th at York Hall, Bethnal Green – topping the bill with the Prizefighter Light Welterweights 3 live on Sky Sports.
The Dagenham man is truly aiming to get right back inside the World title path after falling to WBO king Ricky Burns in a thrilling challenge in Glasgow on September 22.
The twenty-eight yr old will start their pursuit for honours in a ten-rounder in east London when he looks to makes waves domestically prior to another crack at the big prize.
“It’s great to get back into action,” stated Mitchell. “It’s a new chapter inside my life plus I’m so excited to be back at the York Hall. There are plenty of huge domestic fights out there for me later on this year plus I’m looking for a World title shot in 2014.”
“I’m thrilled having Kevin on the packed York Hall show,” stated Matchroom Sport’s Eddie Hearn. “There are several big ticket sellers on the bill, so I’m expecting tickets to sell-out fast and a cracking atmosphere.”
Mitchell’s return tops an excellent evening of action in the east end with Southern Area title rivals Danny Connor and Chris Evangelou leading this line-up in the 31st edition of Prizefighter.
Connor and Evangelou have clashed 2 times for the Area belt since September with Connor triumphant upon both occasions – Evangelou will be hoping the draw pits them together so he is able to gain revenge.
Southampton’s Matty Tew, unbeaten pair Eren Arif plus Charlie Rice are also fighting for the title and also the £32,000 winner’s cheque – the entire line-up is going to be revealed imminently and tickets are on sale now priced £40, £60 and £120 VIP from www.matchroomboxing.com and on 01277 359900.
