Civil War: Team Ireland Clashes With Irish Defense Forces Squad

An Ireland selection and the Irish Defence Forces will go head-to-head at the National Stadium on Friday night, March 21st.

Current Elite champion Chris Phelan will line out for the Defence Forces versus Darren Campbell in Dublin.

2014 Elite finalist Dean Gardiner will also be in action, along with Beijing Olympicn John Joe Joyce and multiple Elite champion Roy Sheahan.

Friday’s card will also feature Caomhin Hynes and Johnny Joyce in a box-of for the Irish welterweight vest for next month’s AIBA World Men’s and Women’s Youth Championships and only Olympic Youth qualifiers in Sofia, Bulgaria.

A record breaking 105 nations, including Ireland, have entered for the 2014 AIBA World Youth Championships.

Boxing begins at 7pm on Friday evening. Admission is €5 only (all ages).
