WBA Update: Lebedev vs. Jones 2 Cancelled, Klitschko vs. Leapai

Panamanian boxer Guillermo “Felino” Jones reportedly tested positive in the antidoping test made on Wednesday in Moscow, in preparation to the scheduled rematch with the World Boxing Association cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev from Russia.

The sample was taken before the weigh-in, and the results were announced before the fight. the antidoping countrol was made by Swiss Laboratory for Doping Analyses (LAD).

The Jones vs. Lebedev rematch has been cancelled according to the information given by the Championships Committee of the World Boxing Association, for security reasons, in light of the allegedly positive result of the A sample made to Jones.

The fighter has the option of requesting the B sample tested, and wait for the new result. Both parties were duly notified the decision.

Heavyweight super world champion Wladimir Klitschko is ready for his latest title defense tonight in Germany, against the Australian Alex Leapai.

Klitschko weighed 112.2 kilos [246.8 lb] while Leapai weighted 112.5 kilos [247 lb].

According to Klitschko ,this will be a very violent fight, and it will have Eddy Cotton as referee, and in charge of the scorecards, Deon Dwarte (SA), Glenn Feldman (US) and Zoltan Enyedi (Hun).
