McCaskill ready and on weight while tension runs high – World Boxing Association

The looks at the weigh-in ceremony showed the public the rivalry as a prelude to what will be another historic bout for women’s boxing worldwide. Jessica McCaskill and Chantelle Cameron stopped the scale at 139 pounds, both just a few grams under 140, fight with all the belts will be at stake tomorrow at the Arabs Emirates.

One of the blunt statements McCaskill, the undisputed welterweight, made was to warn her opponent: “I don’t think you really understand what you’re getting into on Saturday. The last girl I fought, she begged her trainer to stop the fight. She argued with her trainer after 3 rounds because she thought she was going to die, she wanted to go home to her kids. Now I’m dropping weight, I hope you don’t think I’m not going to bring that power.” The American boxer is confident in the power of her fists.

Meanwhile, Cameron let her know that she will be the one to “give her a lesson in humility and I will get a big round of applause when I manage to stop her, because she talks too much, she shows respect to no one. It will be great to knock her down.

With determined words, the two fighters hope to walk out with their hands up and belts around their waists to become the new undivided 140-pound champion.
