Chantelle Cameron makes her mark in history as the new undisputed 140-weight female champion – World Boxing Association

A new absolute reign for female boxing is added to the ranks of the World Boxing Association. Chantelle “Il Capo” Cameron defeated the American Jessica “Caskilla” McCaskill unanimously in ten rounds at the Etihad Arena stadium in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

With a clear technical superiority, holding her counter punching position, dominating the ring with her legs and in a constant state of concentration, the British representative, not only succeeded in her fifth defense of the WBC, IBF and The Ring belts, but also managed to add the pioneer WBA and WBO belts to become the first undisputed champion in the history of the 140 pounds. 

For her part, McCaskill did not have a good night as she did not achieve precision in her aggressive and distinctive attack, which had served her well in that first fight with Cecilia Braekhus at welterweight. The open right jab was her predominant weapon to try to knock out a stylist Cameron who with just the right moves managed to leave McCaskill out of distance and aim, who only a few hits were enough to win a few rounds. 

The judges’ scorecards were 97-93 and two by 96-94 in favor of Cameron, who added her 17th win with 8 knockouts, while the Chicago boxer, still an absolute at 147 pounds, returns with a record of 12 wins, 5 by knockout and 3 losses.
